Bridget ran in the Preferred class, jumping 20 inches. Her runs were scored with the 24 inch class. There were a total of 130 dogs competing in the 24 inch class.
Bridget had a clean run in Time 2 Beat on Friday, earning 8 points. She was the fastest Irish Setter that ran in Time 2 Beat. Four Irish Setters ran Time 2 Beat and only 2 qualified.
Bridget was clean in Round 1, a Jumpers course. At the end of this run she was ranked #11 in the 24 inch class and she was the fastest Irish Setter.
Bridget was clean in Round 2, the Standard course. At the end of this run she was ranked #32 for this run and #13 cumulative in the 24 inch class. She was also still the #1 Irish Setter running.
Bridget was also clean in Round 3, the Hybrid course. At the end of this run she was ranked #21 for this run and #9 cumulative in the 24 inch class. She is still the #1 Irish Setter running.
Then came Round 4, another Jumpers course. I knew that basically all we had to do was have a Clean Run and Bridget would be going to the Finals. Plus she would get the ISCA medallion for top Irish Setter in Agility. Twelve of the 24 inch dogs would run in the Finals. I barely remember Round 4. Bridget ran Clean. At the end of this run she was ranked #26 for this run and #8 cumulative in the 24 inch class. This got us the ISCA medallion for the top Irish Setter at the Invitational and a spot in the Finals!
Then came the Finals. Bridget lost her footing momentarily at the bottom of the dog walk, but kept on going and had a Clean Run in the Finals! We ended up in 4th place! It was an unbelievably perfect weekend, one I will certainly never forget!
Bridget is the first Irish Setter to place in the Finals!
