Derby is co-owned with Elaine, who lives up in Michigan. Elaine's first love is obedience and she works very hard training her dogs so that they are extremely competitive in the ring. Derby has multiple High In Trial awards in Canada and made his AKC obedience debut at the Irish Setter Club of Michigans back-to-back Specialties on September 19-20, 2009 where he took High In Trial both days. He completed his CD title on October 3, 2009 with another 1st place. Derby was the recipient of the Irish Setter Club of America's Annual Award for his RN title for the highest scores in 2008. He had 3 perfect scores of 100. Then in 2009 Derby was the recipient of the Irish Setter Club of America's Annual Award for his CD title for the highest scores. I am so proud of this team! They have a very bright future ahead of them and I look forward to many more excited phone calls from Elaine relaying their good news.

Elaine graciously agreed to keep up with Derby's coat and show him in the breed ring, just for me. Derby has made a couple of trips to Canada and currently has 5 points towards his Canadian championship. He has been shown in the breed ring at AKC shows a handful of times and now that he is more grown up and in good coat, will start getting more serious about the breed ring this fall. Derby finished his UKC breed championship in May 2010. He is growing up to be a very handsome guy.
